Symptoms
General signs are tiredness, weight loss and mild fever. Intestinal symptoms can develop at a later stage.

Symptoms/manifestations in Crohn’s disease:
- irregular bowel movements or diarrhoea: a common long-lasting problem that can recur several times a day; loss of fluids, vital nutrients and blood;
- abdominal pain: usually cramps, often after eating, bloating; they occur at inflammation sites and gut areas affected by the disease;
- fever as a response to inflammation;
- fatigue and feeling a lack of energy;
- weight loss due to lack of food intake or bowel dysfunction;
- development and growth inhibition and hormonal disorders in children/adolescents;
- anaemia: iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency;
- nausea.
